Credits & tokens
Promake uses a credit system to manage how much you can interact with the AI. Understanding credits helps you make the most of your plan.

What Are Credits?
Credits (also called tokens) represent your usage allowance for AI-powered features. Think of them as "AI energy" that gets used when you:
- Ask the AI to build or modify your website
- Make complex requests
- Generate content
How Credits Work
Monthly Allocation
Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation:
| Plan | Monthly Credits | | -------- | --------------- | | Free | Basic amount | | Pro | More credits | | Business | Maximum credits |
Exact amounts shown in your plan details.
Credit Usage
Different actions use different amounts:
| Action | Credit Usage | | ------------------ | ------------ | | Simple text change | Low | | Add a new section | Medium | | Build entire page | Higher | | Complex feature | Higher |
Credit Reset
Credits reset monthly on your billing date:
- Unused credits typically don't roll over
- Fresh allocation each month

Running Low on Credits
Warning Signs
You'll be notified when:
- Credits are running low
- You've used most of your allocation

What Happens at Zero
When credits run out:
- AI features become limited
- You can still view and edit existing projects
- Manual editing (Edit Tool, code) still works
- Wait for reset or upgrade
Getting More Credits

- Upgrade to a higher plan
- Get more monthly credits
Option 3: Purchase Add-On Credits
Some plans allow purchasing additional credits:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Look for Buy Credits option
- Select amount needed
- Complete purchase
Making Credits Last
Be Efficient with Prompts
"Create a website"
Then: "Add a header"
Then: "Add a hero section"
Then: "Add about section"
"Create a business website with a header, hero section with a tagline and CTA button, an about section, and a contact form"
Plan Before Building
Think about what you want before starting. One well-planned request is better than many small changes.
Use the Edit Tool for Small Edits
For minor changes (text, colors, images), use the Edit Tool instead of asking the AI. The Edit Tool doesn't use credits.
Batch Your Requests
Instead of multiple small requests, combine them:
"Please make these changes:
1. Change header background to blue
2. Update phone number to 555-1234
3. Make the CTA button larger"

FAQ
Do unused credits roll over?
Typically no. Use your monthly credits or they reset.
Can I give credits to someone else?
Credits are tied to your account and can't be transferred.
Why did one request use more credits?
Complex requests use more. Building a full page uses more than changing a color.
