Master the art of communicating with Promake's AI to get exactly what you want!
What is a Prompt?
A prompt is simply the message you send to the AI describing what you want. The better your prompt, the better your results.
The Perfect Prompt Formula
A great prompt includes:
[Action] + [Subject] + [Details] + [Style/Preferences]
Example:
"**Create** a **landing page** for a fitness app that includes a hero section with a headline and signup form, features section showing 4 app benefits, testimonials from 3 users, pricing plans, and download buttons for iOS and Android. Use an **energetic color scheme with orange and dark gray**."
Prompt Building Blocks
1. Action Words
Start with what you want the AI to do:
- "Create..." / "Build..." / "Design..."
- "Add..." / "Include..."
- "Change..." / "Modify..." / "Update..."
- "Remove..." / "Delete..."
- "Make it more..." / "Make it less..."
2. Be Specific About Content
Instead of vague descriptions:
| Vague | Specific | | ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | | "Add some text" | "Add a headline that says 'Welcome to Morning Brew'" | | "Add images" | "Add a hero image of coffee being poured" | | "Make it colorful" | "Use warm colors: orange, brown, and cream" | | "Add a form" | "Add a contact form with name, email, phone, and message fields" |
3. Describe Visual Elements
- "Use a blue and white color scheme"
- "Primary color should be #FF6B35"
- "Dark theme with neon accents"
- "2-column layout for the features section"
- "Full-width hero section"
- "Grid of 3 cards per row"
- "Modern sans-serif fonts"
- "Large, bold headlines"
- "Easy-to-read body text"
4. Reference Inspiration
You can mention:
- Websites you like: "Similar to Notion's clean style"
- Design styles: "Minimalist Japanese-inspired design"
- Trends: "Modern glassmorphism effects"
Prompts for Different Tasks
Creating New Sections
Add a testimonials section with 3 customer reviews.
Each testimonial should show a photo, name, role,
company, and their quote. Use a carousel layout.
Changing Colors
Change the color scheme to a dark theme.
Make the background #1a1a1a, text white,
and accent color electric blue #00D4FF.
Modifying Layout
Change the features section from a single column
to a 3-column grid. Add icons above each feature
title and keep the descriptions short.
Adding Functionality
Add a contact form to the contact section with:
- Full name (required)
- Email address (required)
- Phone number (optional)
- Message textarea (required)
- Submit button that says "Send Message"
Improving Design
Make the hero section more engaging:
- Add a subtle gradient background
- Make the headline larger and bolder
- Add a secondary subheadline
- Include a floating image on the right side
- Add a subtle animation to the CTA button
Advanced Prompt Techniques
Chain Prompts
Break complex requests into steps:
- "Create a basic landing page for a coffee shop"
- "Now add a menu section with 4 categories"
- "Make the color scheme warmer with browns and creams"
- "Add a reservation form in the contact section"
Reference Existing Elements
When modifying your site:
- "Make the header navigation sticky"
- "Change the hero background to a video"
- "Add more spacing between sections"
Use Comparison
- "Make the buttons bigger"
- "Make the fonts smaller"
- "Make the design more modern"
- "Make it look more professional"
Common Prompt Mistakes
Too Vague
"Make it look better"
Better
"Improve the hero section by adding more white space, making the headline larger, and adding a subtle shadow to the CTA button"
Too Many Requests at Once
"Create a website with 10 pages, a blog, e-commerce, user accounts, and animations on everything"
Better
Start simple, then add features one at a time:
- "Create a 3-page website for my store"
- "Add a products section"
- "Add subtle hover animations to the cards"
Contradictory Instructions
"Make it minimalist but add lots of elements and decorations"
Better
Be consistent with your design direction
