Publishing Basics

How do I publish my website?

1. Open your project
2. Click the Publish button in the toolbar
3. Choose subdomain or custom domain
4. Click Publish
5. Your site is live!

How long until my site is live?

Publishing is usually instant. Your site should be accessible within seconds.

Can anyone see my website once it's published?

Yes! Once published, anyone with the URL can visit your website.

Do I need to publish every time I make changes?

For changes to appear on your live site, you need to publish again after making updates.

Free Subdomain

What is a free subdomain?

A URL like yoursite.promakeai.site – free with all plans.

How do I choose my subdomain name?

When publishing:

1. Select "Free Subdomain"
2. Enter your desired name
3. If available, it's yours!

Can I change my subdomain later?

Yes! Go to publish settings and update your subdomain name. Note: The old URL will stop working.

What if my subdomain name is taken?

Try:

• Adding numbers or hyphens
• Different wording
• Abbreviations

Custom Domains

How do I use my own domain?

Options:

1. Buy through Promake – Automatic setup
2. Use existing domain – Update DNS settings

How long do DNS changes take?

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours, but usually complete within a few hours.

Why isn't my custom domain working?

Check:

• DNS records are correct
• Enough time has passed (up to 48 hours)
• Domain is verified in Promake
• No typos in domain name

Do I get SSL/HTTPS with my domain?

Yes! All Promake sites include free SSL certificates with automatic HTTPS.

Issues & Troubleshooting

My site shows an error when published

1. Check the preview first – is the site working there?
2. Try republishing
3. Check your domain configuration
4. Contact support if it persists

My site looks different published vs. preview

• Clear your browser cache
• Try incognito/private browsing
• Give it a few minutes to propagate
• Some elements may render slightly differently

I published but nothing changed

• Make sure you clicked Publish after changes
• Clear your browser cache
• Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R)
• Wait a few minutes

How do I unpublish my site?

1. Go to your project
2. Open publish settings
3. Click Unpublish
4. Confirm

Multiple Sites

Can I publish multiple websites?

Yes! Each project can be published independently.

Can I use the same domain for multiple projects?

One domain can point to one project at a time.

Search Engines (SEO)

Will search engines find my site?

Yes! Published sites can be indexed by search engines like Google.

How long until Google shows my site?

Google may take days to weeks to index a new site. You can submit your sitemap to Google Search Console to speed this up.

Removing Published Sites

What happens if I delete my project?

The published website goes offline immediately.
